When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?
I’m a firm believer that everyone’s opinion of success is different. I don’t feel that I’ve yet achieved the level of success where I would consider myself as having “made it”. I’m the type of person who is always striving to better myself and achieve more. I will say that when the time comes that I do feel I’ve achieved that level of success, I’m going to feel the exact same way that I feel right now as I sit here during this interview…humble.
Looking back, what could you have done sooner to get to that point quicker?
Truth be told, I wouldn’t change a single thing about my journey. I honestly believe that I am where I am today because of every decision I’ve made in my past. But, if I HAD to answer this question, I would say that I should have stopped caring what others would think or say. The second I got over that, the universe was like ‘hi there, welcome to the next level’.
What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?
Go after what you want. Most importantly, don’t compare your “Chapter 1” to someone who started 10 years before you. Be willing to step out of your comfort zone, become best friends with discomfort, accept constructive criticism, and focus on your own journey. Stay consistent, keep building, and continue to learn as much as you can.
How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?
Honestly social media has affected my real estate business in so many amazing ways…From the friendships I’ve made with the coolest agents all over the globe, to connecting with some of my amazing clients, to having the ability to educate over 16,000 people about real estate. Just this month, I flew down to Florida to attend a business retreat with over 60 other badass women in the industry; all who were brought together by Instagram. I’m so grateful that I’m able to say I met one of my now greatest friends, who lives in a completely different state, on Instagram. Social media has made it 10x easier to connect, collab, and grow with other like-minded professionals throughout the industry. In today’s day, social media is the way of the world. My Instagram account and the reels I’ve made, for one, have afforded me the opportunity to meet people far beyond the outreaches of my area. Before social media, this has definitely been a limitation for many.
Did You Experience Failures? If So, What Did You Learn From Them?
Absolutely. I still experience failures every day. If I didn’t, I’d be worried or I’d be lying to myself. Nobody is perfect. You should never be embarrassed or afraid to fail…some of the most successful people I know have experienced the biggest failures. The most important thing I’ve learned from every failure, every mistake, every rejection, and every struggle I’ve faced, is to be grateful for them. If you are failing and making mistakes, then you are growing. You have to risk failure to succeed. I promise you; your future self will be grateful for every single failure you overcome.
What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?
Self-discipline for sure. If you don’t have the mindset to overcome rejection/failure and to keep getting back up, you aren’t going to make it. You’ve got to put in the hard work, stay consistent, make sacrifices, and get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Patience, patience, patience. You can’t expect to blink and immediately achieve success, especially in this industry. Hard work pays off. That’s what distinguishes those who are successful and those who fail.
What’s Your Approach To Marketing?
Being authentic, relatable, and most importantly unique on social media. For me, being different and standing out in a crowd of millions is something I continuously strive for. I’ve learned that my style may not suit everyone and that is OK.
