What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?

I studied merchandise + marketing in school. I always wanted to work in a creative field, but didn’t want to leave my small town. A few years after college, I started working for a local real estate team doing marketing. I loved the marketing behind real estate and it was inspiring to me. I was hooked. I started the process and got my license. From there, I wanted my business to stand out. It was motivating to create content that other agents were not. It has really helped me stand out on social media and in my current marketplace.

When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?

When others started to copy my content and when other agents spoke highly of me and my business, even as a new agent. When I first saw others copying my content, I was upset, but then took it as a compliment. Can’t control others!

What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?

Be confident and authentic, no matter if you’re new in real estate or if you’ve been in the business 10+ years. Your confidence and authenticity will show through your social media. Potential clients want to get to know you. Buying or selling real estate is a big deal, they want to feel confident and comfortable with who they’re working with. Social media can help you show your personality to them without meeting in person.

How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?

100%. Social media is a game changer. I’ve not only gained clients through social media, but I’ve gained referrals, and countless relationships with other agents.

What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?

Those who get in the business because they think it’s “easy” money and they would love to have a “flexible schedule”. No matter how long you have been in the business, if you want to be successful, you have to continue to hustle. Your reputation is everything. Social media can make or break you. One dumb post can ruin a reputation you’ve spent years to build.

What’s Your Approach To Marketing?

Social media and being kind to everyone you meet. You never know who could be a possible client or referral. Again, reputation is everything.
