What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?
I have been investing in real estate since I was 20 years old. People always told me to get into the business but it wasn’t until my early 30’s when I started my career in real estate.
I am highly motivated by my love for people and the business. I enjoy negotiating strongly on behalf of my clients and I love to train and mentor new agents. I absolutely love this business. It’s truly a passion.
Comparing your business from back then to now, what has been the main thing that allowed you to expand your business?
Back then you were more face to face with people, today you also need to make a connection virtually. As my team grew, I was able to delegate my clients and their home buying and selling needs, which has allowed me to focus more time on marketing, content creation, client care, and agent mentorship.
What’s the most profitable aspect of your business, why do you think this is and how can others apply this to what they are doing?
I find that my return on investment is highest when I leverage the Golfi and RE/MAX brand.
When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?
This is a tough question, I never truly feel 100% successful. I always feel that I can be better. We’re always trying to re-invent ourselves and add value to our clients. The wants and needs of our clients are always changing. We need to change along with them. There’s always work to be done. My goal is to improve year after year.
Looking back, what could you have done sooner to get to that point quicker?
If I could turn back time, I would have hired key leadership roles in my company earlier on.
What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?
My all time favourite book is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I’ve read my hard copy three times, and listened to it on audible at least twice. I’m actually in the middle of it again now.
How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?
Social media has allowed people to see more of my personality. The man behind the billboards. I’m not for everyone so I guess that could be good and bad.
There’s no questioning the importance of social media in our marketing mix. I actually keep a note book on my night stand that I jot content ideas in. My goal is to educate and entertain at the same time.
How did you build your team?
Simply put, one person at a time- walk, don’t run
How did you become a good leader?
There are many things that I would attribute to my growth in leadership. Finding an amazing coaches, expanding my networks, treating people well are at the core. When it comes to my team, I treat our agents as partners not employees and my clients like family. If you surround yourself with great people they will help you rise up.
Did You Experience Failures? If So, What Did You Learn From Them?
My biggest failure was growing too fast and not having the the systems and processes in place to handle it.
What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?
I think one thing that sets me apart from the crowd is that I act fasts. I’m an action TAKER not thinker a procrastinator. I believe many people just give up too soon. Your next opportunity could be one call away.
What’s Your Approach To Marketing?
I always strive to be a household name. The strength and integrity of the brand is important to me.
