When did you start your career in real estate?

I started to work as a real estate agent in 2010 as I have had a great passion for real estate in general, I really enjoyed buying and selling products and services since I was a young man considering myself as an entrepreneur. I believe that selling skills are gifts from God that can’t be acquired via training like any other skills. Real estate field is very challenging, therefore success in such field is not easy but I like challenges by nature.

Please also in 2 short lines brag about yourself, if you really had to impress someone about what you do, what would you say?

My name is Ara Margos, I work as a real estate agent who is specialized in buying, selling, renting and investing in residential and commercial properties. I have a wide experience in this field and I have won many awards for the sales I have achieved during my career. I always work hard for my clients and when I buy a property for one of my clients, I consider that I will buy it for myself. I believe that transparency and honesty are one of the main factors that helped me succeed in this business. I feel happy when I see the smile on my clients’ faces when they receive their dream house and that’s one of the reasons that makes me like this business.

What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?

The real estate business is not suitable for everyone because it’s difficult and competitive, but when I see all the successful agents around the world, I feel that I have the same qualities, potentials, skills and knowledge. In addition to that my experience in this field has enabled me to understand my clients’ needs quickly without wasting their time.

Comparing your business from back then to now, what has been the main thing that allowed you to expand your business?

When I started out, I was like any other new real estate agent but the experience I gained from my work in the previous company, that was specializing in IT, helped me a lot, as I was communicating daily with different people with different cultures and with different mindsets which made me gain experience and skills that distinguishes me from the rest of my colleges so I had a very good relation with all of my clients. This experience enabled me to win all the rewards that I got, which are difficult to obtain, especially in the presence of this large competition in the real estate business.

What’s the most profitable aspect of your business, why do you think this is and how can others apply this to what they are doing?

The profitable aspect of my job is to know people and what is said about me and my services after the completion of the sale or purchase transaction. The biggest dream for anyone is to buy their dream house. When I help them to turn this dream into reality, I feel so happy, so this is the real profit for me.

How Do You Work: (Do you wake up early, work late, communicate, what jobs do you do yourself, who do you talk to etc)?

I usually get up at 7:30 am, check my daily schedule, meet my clients at the office, then contact the lawyer, the banks and the mortgage agents to follow up on my clients’ house purchases and check the closing dates. I also do a full and comprehensive study of any property that my clients would like to buy. I search for every details related to the real estate such as neighboring homes, schools, shopping malls, neighborhood, city, etc.

When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?

In the first six months I became sure that I will succeed as a good real estate agent because I started using a new marketing methods that was not previously used by anyone, especially in the Canadian real estate market. I’m used to celebrating every sale or purchase that belongs to my clients because I feel that their success is considered as my success and this is something that calls for celebration and pride.

Looking back, what could you have done sooner to get to that point quicker?

There is nothing that I’ll do differently, as my entry into the real estate business was in the best time as I used all the means to reach success quickly.

What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?

I believe that they have to use technology, specifically marketing through social media. They must also develop their skills in real estate transitions closing. But before all this, transparency must be the basis for their dealings with their clients in addition that they have to know everything related to the property because they may be asked about it by clients.

What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?

Nowadays, clients have a good knowledge that enables them to distinguish between who is successful and who is not by researching the Internet and by asking simple questions that will show the extent of experience and knowledge of the real estate agent they deal with, so the successful agent is always distinguished from the rest by his/her experience in the real estate market.

How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?

Marketing through the Internet and through social media has a great impact on my success, because marketing through social media is the best and fastest way to get new customers. But the secret of success appears after having a client and that includes knowing how to satisfy him, making him happy and comfortable. This is the most important thing therefore my motto is (Your Realtor For Life).
