Lauren Goché – Realtor, Think Real Estate |
What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?
Honestly, I was a crossroads, and literally had no idea what else to do with my life. A good friend talked me into it, committing to mentor me. Sometimes I think stubbornness keeps me going. Cuz sometimes this shit is HARD. In the beginning when you feel like you’ll never be able to properly make a consistent living. But now I am so passionate about helping people create generational wealth. About housing stability.
Comparing your business from back then to now, what has been the main thing that allowed you to expand your business?
Instagram has allowed me to reach not only a lot of people but the RIGHT kind of people. I am unabashedly myself on IG and it kind of allows people to self select out. So, by the time someone reaches out to me to chat about being their realtor, we already have a genuine connections.
What’s the most profitable aspect of your business, why do you think this is and how can others apply this to what they are doing?
Reply.
When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?
I feel like when newer agents reached out for advice from me consistently, that was when I realized I had made it. And when other realtors I highly respected started talking to me as a peer.
What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?
I know this is said over and over again, but authenticity!!!! I cannot emphasize that enough. be YOU. warts and all. Real estate is an intimate thing for our sellers and buyers. Show you’re human and vulnerable and they will respond similarly.
How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?
To me, it has made it so that I attract more and more of my ideal client. I spend every waking hour in some aspect of real estate. I need to LOVE my clients. Social media has better allowed that!
What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?
The first two things I think of are: 1. those of us who succeed do NOT give up. year after year. 2. find mentors and peers to learn from. there is SO much knowledge out there. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
