What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?

While working at my first full-time job after college, I quickly realized that lifestyle is not what I wanted. I started looking for entrepreneur opportunities that provided a flexible schedule, the chance to be my own boss, and ability to earn unlimited income as long as I was willing to work for it. Fast forward a few years and I had the opportunity to jump head first into real estate! It had always intrigued me and seemed like it checked all the boxes.

I didn’t sell my first house until 14 months after getting my real estate license and it was very difficult to keep going when it felt like nothing was happening. But I knew that it would all eventually pay off and kept showing up!

The way I see it, it’s not necessarily about “motivating” yourself to keep going but rather cultivating the discipline to keep going even when nothing seems to be working.

Comparing your business from back then to now, what has been the main thing that allowed you to expand your business?

Honestly, it’s been my mindset. During those first 10-11 months of having my license, I had a terrible mindset. I didn’t truly believe in myself which really kept me in my own way.

I had to re-train my brain using affirmations that I was capable, smart, and believed in myself more than anybody else. It wasn’t until I started working on myself that I really started to see success in real estate.

When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?

August/September 2020 was the first time I had multiple closings in one month and I remember feeling so thankful for the income those closings brought to me & my family.

That was my first “taste” of what it’s like to be a top producing agent and I knew I wanted to keep chasing that feeling.

How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?

Social media and online marketing IS my business! From the get-go I knew I wanted to use social media as my primary marketing source. It definitely took some time to build up recognition and a community but it has been well worth it!

The majority of my closings in 2020 were all from clients who found me on social media first and that is so special to me!

Did You Experience Failures? If So, What Did You Learn From Them?

Of course! In my opinion, real estate is a “learn-as-you-go” type of career. Unfortunately, real estate school doesn’t really prepare you for the real world and you have to accept the fact that you won’t know much of anything until you actually go through it.

Because of this, you have to accept failure as a teacher and make sure to learn from your mistakes.

What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?

Those who are successful never gave up, even during the toughest of times.
