What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?
I was inspired to get into real estate when I was in university studying business and I realized that real estate allows me to utilize all of the aspects of business I enjoy. (consulting, marketing & finance) Being able to help clients and achieve a certain lifestyle I desire, is what motivates me to keep going.
Comparing your business from back then to now, what has been the main thing that allowed you to expand your business?
The main thing that has allowed me to expand my business is learning from a mentor (Jordan Grosman), who dominates the market I am passionate about. The connections and opportunities this has helped me achieve, single handily expedited the process.
What’s the most profitable aspect of your business, why do you think this is and how can others apply this to what they are doing?
The most profitable aspect of my business is referrals from past clients. I strongly this is due to the fact that I ensure to make every buying/selling process smooth, and I am completely transparent with my clients. I also ensure to follow up religiously throughout the buying/selling process and many years later so I am always top of mind. Others can easily do the same by getting a CRM that enables you to stay organized and on top of all of your clients.
When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?
To this day, I still believe I am far from achieving my goal, which is to be one of the most recognized brokers in Toronto. I’m happy with where I am, but I know it will take a lot more work and effort to get where I want to be. I am extremely happy knowing I am making a difference in my clients life and make it. point to celebrate with them.
What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?
I recommend other real estate agents to ensure they have a CRM that’s cleaned, organized and thorough with client information. Follow ups have single handedly brought me 5-10 transactions per year thus far and a number of referrals.
How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?
Social media has allowed me to show my personality, my work ethic and my passion for the business. I care so much about the process that the sale becomes the reward and clients notice that. After hiring a PR team, I realize their is still much more that needs to be done to keep progressing my brand and I believe moving forward, social media and online marketing will separate good agents from phenomenal top agents.
Did You Experience Failures? If So, What Did You Learn From Them?
As realtors, we face failures almost daily. Personally, I have deals fall apart all of the time, I have leads fall off and I have other things that happen daily but I learned to move forward and forget about the past. We can only focus on the present and our future business.
What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?
The main differences is work ethic and how easily you can let failures go. The quicker realtors realize that things happen and sometimes its out of our control, the quicker you will move on and chase something bigger and better.
What’s Your Approach To Marketing?
My approach to marketing is showing my authentic self. Don’t fake anything and let people in my world, both professionally and personally.
