What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?
I bought my first at 21 with the VA loan. My driving factor is to help as many people accomplish the American dream of homeownership as possible
Comparing your business from back then to now, what has been the main thing that allowed you to expand your business?
The ability to network and understanding the value of that network, building lasting relationships and putting the needs of our clients above our own.
What’s the most profitable aspect of your business, why do you think this is and how can others apply this to what they are doing?
The relationships aspect, when I started putting professional and personal relationships over business transactions is when I saw a more full filling and thriving business.
When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?
I still haven’t made it. I try to celebrate the small wins but staying ambitions and driven towards my high goals. Realizing that we have so many more clients and agents to help is what I will continue to celebrate every day.
Looking back, what could you have done sooner to get to that point quicker?
Maximize my CRM and the fortune is in the follow up.
What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?
Relationships, lead generation, and financial intelligence for themselves.
How has social media and online marketing affected your real estate business? How much more success have you had now after implementing social media and online marketing efforts?
It made a huge impact, having the ability to touch and reach more people whether that’s agents or clients it allows them to get a perspective of me before we meet.
How did you become a good leader?
Leadership is a work in progress every day. I think 10 years, 6 combat deployments with 82nd Airborne, 1st Ranger BN, and 7th Special Forces group helped me develop some consistent leadership qualities and traits. Tailoring that mentality to the civilian world is an adaptation in itself, and meeting like minded people along that learning path helps to reinforce those qualities in myself.
Did You Experience Failures? If So, What Did You Learn From Them?
Of course, everyone does. I learn from every failure and try not to make the same mistake twice. But what I realized is everyone is human, and people make mistakes so try not to beat yourself up over everyone. That is wasted mental effort. It’s standing up afterwards and learning from your mistakes that helps a person move forward humbly and successfully.
What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?
Consistency, turning ambitions into realized goals, staying humble and always being open to learning along the path to success.
What’s Your Approach To Marketing?
Video Content is KEY. Putting your own professional viewpoints out to the world there whether it is with market listings, education goals or boosters, or just general lifestyle improvement. People need to hear your voice and see your face to catch your enthusiasm!
