What inspired you to start in real estate and how did you motivate yourself to keep going?

I got inspired to become a Realestate Agent at the age of 19. I’ve always been intrigued by the Real Estate business. Since watching “ Girlfriends,” Tony Childs was a Female Boss who was very successful in the Real Estate industry. My daughter has always been my greatest motivating factor. However, I’ve always had a huge imagination as a kid. I believe that the qualities embedded in me, such as my resilience and desire to want to be better than yesterday, have kept me going. There were many trials and errors throughout my career, but nothing was ever too big for me not to want to keep thriving.

When did you realize you were successful/made it and how did you feel/celebrate?

I realized that I was successful when many people started reaching out to me, voicing how I have inspired them to pursue their dreams. My success and my winnings were giving many people the courage and confidence to accomplish their goals. People are empowered! Also, when I realized I could wake up and not worry about money. Everything became effortlessly.

Looking back, what could you have done sooner to get to that point quicker?

I should’ve started marketing and branding myself sooner. I waited until 3 years ago to get on social media. Also, the more I became confident with being my authentic self, people began to connect with me personally. As a professional, we’re supposed to carry and maintain a professional image. I use to worry about not being professional enough or being too robotic and not being myself.

However, I’m very knowledgeable about Realestate, and I’m very passionate about what I do. I make sure I handle all transactions with integrity and morals. Honestly, that’s really what matters the most. I didn’t understand this early on.

What should other real estate entrepreneurs reading this be focusing on to expand their own business?

You have to be a walking billboard. Doing the bare minimum will not get you there. Continue to keep your face and your name relevant. Also, focus on your personal growth and do not compare your success to other realtors.

How did you become a good leader?

A great leader is always and will be a student of life. I’m forever learning, and I am always looking for ways to grow. I seek advice from those who are in positions that I desire to be in. I am actionable, and I pay attention to it. My previous Managing Broker Perdure Carter has given me so much advice, and most of it was about creating the best mindset. A bad mindset will interfere with anything great you have the desire to accomplish in life.

Did You Experience Failures? If So, What Did You Learn From Them?

I’ve experienced many failures. Those failures have taught me how to become a better businesswoman, a better leader, and a stronger person. I’ve never been afraid to fail because I know losses create champions. When you fail, it teaches you what not to do next time.

What do you consider the main differences between those people who have been successful in your industry and those who have failed?

Successful people keep going even when they are not getting instant results. They are staying true to the vision. Those who have failed did not get the results instantly as they wanted to and decided to move on.
